Welcome to Dockrunner

Portuguese Water Dogs have intrigued me for many years. The breed is loyal, affectionate, playful and hard working. Having had Labrador Retrievers for over 40 years, as well as a Flat-Coated Retriever, I was looking for a smaller, non-shedding breed. Our little Mattea has certainly filled that bill. Special thanks to Shari Robinson of Keepsake for breeding such a healthy, happy girl.

At six months of age Mattea participated in her first show and took best puppy in group. By twelve months of age she had obtained her Canadian championship with six best puppy in breed, six group firsts, two seconds, one best of opposite and two reserve winners. Mattea's energy is now focused on obtaining her CD (Companion Dog) title, as well as enjoying agility.

Each morning Mattea and I go to Tim Horton's where Mattea gets her tim bit and I my coffee. Then we head off to the park by the river for our morning walk. This breed is a great companion for an active family. Portuguese Water Dogs are energetic, intelligent, and they love children and other dogs. Mattea even likes cats. She is also a great watch dog.
